Reposition, crop, and set ratio

Build a stable composition by setting ratio, crop bounds, and position controls in the right order.

Goal

Produce a balanced composition that fits the destination format without clipping important UI.

Prerequisites

  • Screenshot is imported.
  • Frame/background decisions are either set or at least mostly decided.

Steps

  1. Set target aspect ratio first.
  2. Apply a crop preset:
    • freeform if you want complete manual crop control.
    • original if you want to keep the source image ratio.
    • A fixed ratio if you are targeting a specific output format.
  3. Use crop handles to isolate the important content region.
  4. Adjust position X/Y and scale for final framing.
  5. Optionally add tilt for style after content placement is stable.
  6. Use geometry tools (straighten/flip/rotate) only when necessary.

Verify Result

  • Key UI elements are visible and readable.
  • No accidental clipping from crop or frame bounds.
  • Composition works at export scale without needing extra correction.

Quick Rollback / Undo Path

  • Undo recent crop/position changes.
  • Reset zoom/position to defaults.
  • Reset crop and rebuild from ratio selection.

If composition keeps drifting

  • Lock ratio and frame first.
  • Avoid switching between many presets mid-adjustment.
  • Reapply one known preset, then make small deltas.
