Add a gradient background

Create or apply a gradient background with stops, presets, and handle controls.

Goal

Apply a gradient background that adds depth without reducing screenshot readability.

Prerequisites

  • A source screenshot is imported.
  • Background controls are accessible.

Steps

  1. Open gradient controls and set background mode to gradient.
  2. Start from a preset or recent gradient.
  3. Adjust type:
    • linear for directional blend.
    • radial for center-focused blend.
  4. Edit stops:
    • Select a stop and adjust color.
    • Add stops up to 5 if needed.
    • Remove stops until at least 2 remain.
  5. Adjust handles (angle, center, radius) until screenshot contrast is clean.

Verify Result

  • Background mode is gradient.
  • Stop transitions are smooth and intentional.
  • Foreground content remains legible in high-contrast areas.

Quick Rollback / Undo Path

  • Undo stop/color changes.
  • Re-apply a known good preset.
  • Disable background to compare against base composition.

If gradient feels noisy

  • Reduce stop count.
  • Keep angle/center changes subtle.
  • Use a simpler preset as baseline.
