Pro and subscriptions

How Shotwell Pro changes exports, how billing works, and where to restore or manage purchases.

What Pro changes

  • Free save, copy, and share exports include a Shotwell watermark.
  • Shotwell Pro removes that watermark from those export actions.
  • Export format and size controls stay available either way.

Where to open Pro

You can reach Shotwell Pro from:

  • Settings -> Shotwell Pro
  • Upgrade prompts shown around export flows

If Pro is already active, Shotwell can show billing status and a manage-subscription path instead of an upgrade prompt.

Plans and offers

  • Shotwell Pro can show yearly and monthly plans.
  • If a free trial or introductory offer is available for your App Store account and current offering, Shotwell shows it automatically.
  • Purchases are handled by the App Store.

Restore and manage purchases

  • The Pro screen links to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions keep renewing until canceled in the App Store.
  • Cancel before the current billing period ends if you do not want renewal.

Common issues

I paid, but exports still have a watermark

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Use Restore purchases.
  3. Return to the editor and export again.

I cannot open subscription settings

  • Make sure your device can open App Store subscription links.
  • Retry from Settings -> Shotwell Pro.
  • If it still fails, contact support.
